Privacy policy / GDPR

As a European company managing global drug safety studies, we understand the importance of keeping your data safe. For us, data protection, privacy and security are vital aspects of our daily work. We care about the health and well-being of our study participants and fundamental to this, is the safekeeping of data.

All employees at ZEG Berlin receive trainings on data protection. Our systems and processes are regularly updated, ensuring that our working environment reflects current best-practice. Built into our security management system are tools to assess, mitigate and manage potential security threats. Our goal is to design a digital workplace that protects the confidentiality and integrity of your data.

ZEG Berlin’s Data Protection Officer reports directly to the ZEG Berlin executive and is supported by the Data Protection Regulatory officer of Kantar. If you have any questions related to data protection and security, please contact: datenschutz@zeg-berlin.de directly.

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

The GDPR (EU)2016/679 is a European law on data protection and privacy. It affects all individuals and businesses living and operating within the European Union. The law comes into effect on 25th May 2018.

The goal of GDPR is to harmonize how data are protected and managed across the European Union and to provide individuals with more control over how their data are used. Under the GDPR, confidentiality of your personal and health-related data will continue to be ZEG Berlin’s priority. Any health-related data are pseudonymized and only used for research purposes. Data are maintained in protected networks and only stored for the legally required amount of time.

ENCePP

We are a partner centre of the ENCePP scientific network which is coordinated by the European Medicines Agency. We are dedicated to excellence in research by adhering to the ENCePP Guide on Methodological Standards and promoting scientific independence and transparency. We register studies in the ENCePP E-Register of Studies, a publicly accessible resource for the registration of pharmacoepidemiological and pharmacovigilance studies.

General Data Protection Regulation

With a view to the introduction of the GDPR/EUDSGVO we are glad to present our newupdated privacy policy . The updated description are stored under “about us” and then “privacy policy/GDPR”. Further translation for study participants will follow contemporary.
